Billiat: Fans bring out my best

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat has hailed the support he received from the club's fans following his man-of-the-match display against Mbombela United on Saturday.

The Zimbabwe international played a starring role as the Brazilians booked their place in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals thanks to a 3-1 win over their less fancied opposition at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

And, speaking after the game, Billiat was full of praise for the attitude of Mbombela United, while also giving thanks to the support he receives from up in the stands.

He said: "We knew it wasn't going to be easy for us, but we worked hard as a team.

"The coach told us, if it wasn't going to come early in the game we must just keep pushing, and this is what we did.

"This team (Mbombela) always pushes to the end. They are not an easy side to play against."

When asked about his impressive form for Sundowns this season, Billiat added: "I look at it positively. If people believe in me, I can do even better than I always do. It gives me courage to push to the limits."
