Billiat: Bafana trio key for Sundowns

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Khama Billiat has identified Percy Tau, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Themba Zwane as players crucial to the team's hopes of success this season.

The trio were all on target for South Africa in their 3-1 win over Burkina Faso last weekend and will return to domestic action when the Brazilians host Kaizer Chiefs in a league encounter next Tuesday.

Billiat was previously part of Sundowns' deadly 'CBD' combination, the other players being Leonardo Castro and Keagan Dolly.

Dolly, however, now plays for French side Montpellier, while Castro has battled to replicate his previous form for the Tshwane giants.

But Zimbabwe international Billiat is confident that his three Bafana Bafana club-mates are ready to pick up the baton.

"I am not surprised (that Tau, Vilakazi and Zwane are doing well). They are good players and there's something special in them," he was quoted saying by KickOff website.

"It's an honour playing with them. I know that their top form is going to help the team and take the team to another level. It will make us better. We would like to be dangerous.

Chiefs may have made a fairly slow start to the season, but Billiat says he expects that the form book will count for little.

"It's not going to be (about) how you played the last game when it comes to Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns. What you do on the day is very important," Billiat said.

"Also on our side things are not the way we want. We want to actually be where we used to be and we need to get our confidence back and do better from all the games we have played so far.

"It's going to be tough for both teams. You know there's always going to be goals. The best team will win."
