Belgian club showing interest in Maritzburg's Ofori

Cape Town - Maritzburg United chairperson Farook Kadodia has revealed that a Belgian club are interested in the services of goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Ofori has been an important player for the Team of Choice in recent seasons, helping them retain their Absa Premiership status last year.

United are willing to let Ofori join a big European club to further his career but also added that he will most likely only leave at the end of the season, once there is a more concrete offer on the table.

"There's some interest from Belgium for Ofori. But first I need to clarify this. Ofori is not in the last year of his contract. He still has one more year left at the club," Kadodia said as quoted by Independent Media.

"We would love to place Ofori into a good team, not at the team where his career won't go far.

"There were some talks with the team from Belgium, but nothing has been pursued as yet. If it happens, it will be the end of the season."
