Baxter confirms Peterse interest

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter has admitted he is interested in signing Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has confirmed his exit from Chiefs at the end of the season after failing to agree a contract extension with the Soweto giants.

And Baxter, who at Amakhosi's helm not long ago, admits he would be interested in acquiring the services of Pieterse.

However, he went one step further by suggesting he would also bee n interested in signing the likes of Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Willard Katsande, should they decide to part ways Chiefs.

"Reyaad has declared that he doesn't want to stay? We would be interested in him, and if 'Yeye' [Reneilwe Letsholonyane] says the same we will be interested, and [Willard] Katsande says the same we will be interested," Baxter told KickOff.

"We will be interested in good players, but I will not be alone, I'm telling you. [But] I cannot come and destabilise players at Chiefs because they are biggest club in the country and if the player is happy at Chiefs he wouldn't come to SuperSport...that is football."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
