United coach Stuart Baxter has revealed his club's interest in
potentially signing Mandla Masango from Denmark Superliga club Randers.
The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour with the Horses after he reportedly tried to engineer a move away from the side, and was subsequently relegated to train with the reserves.
The Bafana Bafana international was said to have nearly joined Matsatsantsa last February, however, the move failed to materialise and he has since remained in limbo in Europe.
As such, Baxter has indicated the club will talk to the player about a possible move when he takes a break during the Danish off-season. The pair enjoyed success together during their time at Kaizer Chiefs.
He told Soccer Laduma: "Mandla is a player who's come on a lot over the last couple of seasons and, because I've had him before, I'd always be monitoring his situation.
"The way he's been treated is scandalous and when he comes back to South Africa on his break he'll probably pay a visit to us."
The winger is contracted to Randers until 2018. Stuart Baxter already has a wealth of options available to him and boasts a total of ten midfielders in his squad, including names like Cole Alexander, Dean Furman and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
United's next game will see them take on Orlando Pirates in a Telkom Knockout semi-final clash at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Kick off is at 18:00.
