Cape Town - University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett has applauded the never-say-die attitude his players displayed in the 1-1 draw against Mpumalanga Black Aces.
AmaTuks fought until the very end after Atusaye Nyondo scored deep into second-half injury time, canceling out Collins Mbesuma's 30th-minute opener at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
And now, for the first time in months, Tuks have moved out of the relegation zone and into 14th place by virtue of superior goal difference over Jomo Cosmos.
"I think I feel like I played the match. With the chances we had in this game, we should have had another three or four goals, which I'm hoping that we'll keep for the next game," Bartlett told SuperSport.
"But once again we showed the fighting spirit until the end, and our players never gave up.
"The confidence is growing; the performances are getting better; it's just that we need to be a bit more clinical when we get into the final third."
