Pretoria - University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett expressed his displeasure on the manner in which his team played in their loss to Jomo Cosmos at the weekend, citing that his charges did not step up to the plate.
AmaTuks Absa Premiership survival hopes took a back seat after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Ezinkosi at the Olen Park Stadium on Sunday courtesy of a Charlton Mashumba strike.
The former Golden Arrows mentor said his players were just adding numbers in the field of play without playing the game.
The Students are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday and the 43-year-old tactician hinted that he is not intimidated by the Brazilians as he intends to select players who will rise to the occasion.
“I’m not really worried about Sundowns at all,” insisted Bartlett.
“Because everybody in the team knew that we’ll have to play Chiefs and then Sundowns in a short period.
“For me to do now is to select a team that can go out there and turn up like what happened today (Sunday), we just turned up.
“We never actually played anything, we never played the game and most of our players were just watching the game.
“And that’s the disappointing part, not only disappointed with the results but also their performance both individually and collectively.”
Kick-off for this clash is at 19:30.
