Baroka thrash Platinum Stars in TKO Last 16

Cape Town - Baroka FC brushed aside Platinum Stars 3-1 to advance to the 2016 Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon.

Bakgaga proved too strong for Dikwena in their Last 16 clash which took place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Mzwanele Mahashe gave Baroka the lead with a thumping header just two minutes into the game with Stars goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela well beaten.

The home side continued to dominate the Cup encounter and they were leading 1-0 against Dikwena during the half-time break in the city of Polokwane.

Bakgaga doubled their lead two minutes into the second half and once again it was Mahashe who scored with a powerful header from a corner-kick.

In the 63rd minute, Marshall Munetsi, who is on-loan from Orlando Pirates, extended Baroka's lead to 3-0 with a long range effort.

Second half substitute Sipho Senne grabbed a late goal for Stars in the 90th minute and the match ended 3-1 in favor of Baroka.
