Baloyi proclaims Chiefs greatness

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi says Amakhosi are defined by greatness and says they want to prove it by winning trophies.

Chiefs have already missed one opportunity to win silverware this season after they lost the final of the MTN8 against Ajax Cape Town, but will have another opportunity in the Telkom Knockout final on December 16.

"There is no doubt about us wanting to show South Africans that this team is not like any other ordinary team but a team that is being defined by greatness, which is why we advanced to our second final of the season," Baloyi told Soccer Laduma.

"The important thing about adversity is how quickly you bounce back and I think our supporters and the other pundits who doubted the ability of this team finally realised that we have the pedigree to return to winning ways soon," he concluded.

It has been just short of two weeks since Kaizer Chiefs took the field in a competitive fixture due to the recently concluded FIFA international break, but they return to action on Saturday, November 21 when they travel to Maritzburg United for an Absa Premiership encounter.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
