Bakgaga upset the Chilli Boys

Cape Town - Baroka picked up their first win of the new Premiership season with a 3-1 victory over Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday.

The hosts started brightly with Menzi Masuku the first to get a shot away from the left-hand side although he failed to test Virgil Vries in the Baroka goal.

Abel Mabaso then smashed over from outside the box on 17 minutes ahead of a similarly wasteful effort from Mark Mayambela.

Brighton Mhlongo was forced into a super stop on 27 minutes after some indecisive defending, and after the lively Masuku again went wide, some more sloppy defending from the hosts on 41 minutes cost them as James Okwuaso's clearance ended up in his own net.

Katlego Mashego replaced Moeketsi Sekola in the 53rd minute and by the 57th minute he had drawn his side level from the penalty spot.

But Baroka's super sub went one better by restoring the away side's lead, against the run of play before making sure of all three points in the dying minutes.
