Cape Town - Baroka FC have confirmed the signing of Kgotso Maloka from Highlands Park's Multichoice Diski side on a two-year deal.
Maloka may not be a big-name player - yet - but Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has emphasised the importance of investing in youth.
"Kgotso Maloka is from Highlands Park, he was with MDC. I do have big-name players in my team, I do have international players. I've got about seven international players," Mphahlele told KickOff.
"Now I must develop young boys. I must bring young boys who can play. I've got one 19-year-old boy playing. I need another one who can play in the senior team.
"If I can get four or five young players playing in the senior team then I'll be happy, it's the future. Just wait and watch the second round and you'll see what I saw in the boy. When the window period is open we'll register him."
Meanwhile, Bakgaga are reportedly also in the hunt for Tuks star Mogau Khwinana but Mphahlele denied ever even having heard of the player, although he admitted he is not clued up on the inner workings of the squad.
"Khwinana? Who's Khwinana? I don't know about that one. No I don't know about that one. I'm not sure [if he is training with the team], I haven't seen the team for ages. I only saw them when we were playing," said the Baroka CEO.
"But training I don't know, I've never seen them [Baroka squad] I'm sure for about three months... I'm busy. I want to go and see them but I'm busy. I've got my job, I can't leave my job and do someone else's job."
