Cape Town - Recent Kaizer Chiefs signing Kearyn Baccus admitted he played poorly during his Absa Premiership debut against Highlands Park last Sunday.
Despite bagging a first half assist for Lebogang Manyama's opening goal, Baccus was substituted at half-time by coach Ernst Middendorp despite not being injured. The midfielder appeared to struggle with the pace of the game and had little impact aside from his assist for Manyama's header.
Speaking ahead of Chiefs' league clash with Black Leopards this weekend, the 27-year-old his side's official website: "I was very happy to make my debut. I didn't perform as I wanted though."Before any match I try and relax as much as I can. At camp I shared a room with Leonardo Castro, we watched movies and had some interesting conversations. The coach told me on Sunday morning that Leo was unfortunately struggling with an injury."Another win this weekend will be key...My family watched on and were happy to see me playing for Chiefs. I wish to play in Durban. I will work hard. With more training and matches, I will get to my best."
The Glamour Boys face Leopards on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
