Cape Town - Absa Premiership newcomers Stellenbosch FC look set to play their home games at Athlone Stadium after their previous venue was not approved by the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Idas Valley Stadium did not meet the league's stringent regulations and Stellies have been in contact with Stellenbosch University about using Danie Craven Stadium, which usually hosts Maties' Varsity Cup rugby matches.
But for now, Steve Barker's side have registered Athlone Stadium as their home for the 2019/20 season, according to PSL Chief Executive Officer Ronnie Schloss,
"We are still waiting but it looks like it's going to be Athlone," Schloss told KickOff.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch’s first Absa Premiership encounter will be away to Chippa United on Saturday, August 3.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
