Absa Premiership side AmaZulu are set to take legal action against Mabhuti Khenyeza for a 'breach of contract'.

The 37-year-old former Bafana striker quit Usuthu, where he was assistant to Josef Vukusic, for TS Galaxy in February.

He had been a loyal servant to the Durban club in recent years as a player and coach but left them shocked with his abrupt departure.

AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela was reported by Soccer Laduma as saying: "The Mabhuti Khenyeza matter is a breach of contract and has been forwarded to the PSL DRC (Dispute Resolution Chamber).

"It was very disappointing the way things turned out because we had a good open relationship with Mr Khenyeza. And the way we parted did leave a sour taste in our mouth.

"We have taken this matter to the DRC and they will deal with it."

Vukusic has since been placed on special leave with Ayanda Dlamini appointed interim coach.
