AmaZulu give Johnson vote of confidence

Cape Town - AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela has rubbished speculation that he is looking for a replacement for head coach Cavin Johnson.

Johnson has been at the helm for just under two years since taking over from Joey Antipas and despite a poor finish to the season, Sokhela has put his weight behind the former Platinum Stars and Supersport United coach.

"No that's definitely not the case as yet," Sokhela tells KickOff.

"As things stand, Cavin is still the coach, he still has a contract and there hasn't been any instruction or decision from the board for me to do otherwise. So as we stand he still have a contract and that's what we are complying with."

Usuthu were in danger of being drawn in to the relegation zone in the closing stages of the season, but managed to achieve an 11th-placed finish, albeit just four points above relegated Free State Stars.
