AmaZulu deny Khenyeza to Arrows claims

Cape Town - AmaZulu team manager Qedi Dlamini has denied claims that veteran striker Mabhuti Khenyeza is set to join local rivals Golden Arrows.

South African media suggested the 35-year-old was looking to swap Usuthu for Arrows in his search of regular football.

Khenyeza has scored twice in 10 appearances for Cavin Johnson's side, but made just three starts thus far in the 2017/18 campaign.

Nonetheless, Dlamini was quick to reiterate that the marksman was going nowhere before the at the end of the season when his contract expires.

"We have spoken to him, he has confirmed to us that he has not signed any pre-contract with anyone," Dlamini said. "Obviously, Mabhuti is on a one-year contract.

"For us what we want to stress and warn our supporters about, is that at this time of the season there would be people looking to try and stop the progress of the club by inventing rumours out of thin air.

"The player has even spoken to us about possibilities that he may look to explore come the end of the season which entails the possibility of coaching.

"As far as playing contracts are concerned Mabhuti is an experienced player who is honest and doesn't play hide and seek regarding his wishes."

AmaZulu next face an out-of-form SuperSport United at the King Zwelithini Stadium in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
