AmaZulu cut ties with defender Konqobe

Cape Town - Absa Premiership side AmaZulu on Monday terminated the contract of defender Ayabulela Konqobe with immediate effect, the club announced.

The Durban-based side announced that the two parties had "reached an amicable agreement" to part ways.

The 23-year-old had signed a six-month deal in January but failed to make an impact having made just one league appearance this season.

"It is not the ideal scenario to cut ties with a player at this stage of the season, AmaZulu General Manager Lunga Sokhela said. "We have reached an amicable agreement with Ayabulela and wish him all the best with his future."

"We will not make any further comments on the matter. Right now our main priority is to ensure that the club finishes the season in a positive manner," he concluded.
