Gamal returns to the Clever Boys

Cape Town - Egypt international Amr Gamal has returned to training with Bidvest Wits after initial reports suggested the striker might be leaving the Students during the January transfer window.

Despite a generally positive opening to his Wits career during which time he scored five goals in 19 appearances in all competitions, the 26-year-old has fallen out of favour during the side's recent revival in the Premiership.

The player had attracted some interest from the likes of SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates, with the Al Ahly loanee at the time said to be seeking more regular playing time.

Nonetheless, Gamal is back at training and Soccer Laduma report that the forward is motivated towards working hard and forcing his way back into coach Gavin Hunt's team.

If he is able to impress at practice, the Nag Hammadi-born star may get the chance to prove himself all over again when the Clever Boys face Kaizer Chiefs in the league on Saturday evening.

However, the publication add that Gamal may also have options abroad as the Russian Premier League transfer deadline is on 22nd February, while America's Major League Soccer window slams shut only in May.
