Amakhosi to be without 4 key players for Arrows clash

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are set to be without four key players when they take on Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

Amakhosi, who are the current log leaders of the Absa Premiership after seven matches, beat Baroka 1-0 on Saturday but the victory came at a cost as Itumeleng Khune and George Maluleka limped off injured.

Khune was replaced by Daniel Akpeyi while Willard Katsande came on for Maluleka as Chiefs ground out a positive result to open up a three-point lead over Polokwane City on the log standings.

While Khune and Maluleka will struggle to make the game against Arrows, defender Reeve Frosler also picked up an injury over the weekend while forward Samir Nurkovic is still missing with injury.

Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp said on the club's website: "We have already George (Maluleka) out and definitely not available for Tuesday.

"We have Itu Khune out and definitely not available for Tuesday; we have Samir (Nurkovic) out and definitely not available for Tuesday.

"Reeve Frosler will definitely not be available for Tuesday."

Njabulo Blom, who is a graduate from the Kaizer Chiefs Academy, could make his senior debut against Arrows after he was withdrawn from the club's Multichoice Diski team over the weekend.

Middendorp added: "I stopped Njabulo Blom from playing in our MDC game, and he will be probably on the field on Tuesday."
