Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa has denied reports linking the club with the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Keagan Dolly.

The 26-year-old Dolly has struggled for game time at French club Montpellier HSC this season, with his time in Ligue 1 marred by injuries.

Speculation has been rife that the former Mamelodi Sundowns player could make a return to South Africa football, but Chiefs have denied any link to his signing.

Maphosa said in quotes published by TimesLive: "From a Kaizer Chiefs point of view, we are in the window period for signings of players.

"This is a period when there is much speculation, and in that speculation Chiefs as a big football brand will be associated with big names.

"Keagan Dolly is a big name. And so, to see his name linked to Kaizer Chiefs does not come as a surprise to us.

"Our policy has been and remains that if a player is signed and sealed, we will not miss even an inch of time and opportunity to inform our supporters about it."

Amakhosi will continue their push for the Absa Premiership title when they host Cape Town City on Sunday.
