Cole Alexander is "grateful for the opportunity" that Bidvest Wits afforded him when signing the player in 2018.
The 30-year-old former Ajax Cape Town, Polokwane City and SuperSport United midfielder has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons.
He rediscovered his fitness and form under Gavin Hunt at the Clever Boys, where he played 17 league games this season.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Alexander explained: "I've really enjoyed my time here (at Wits).
"You know Wits took on a half broken player to be honest. You know I went to Wits with a low self-esteem, I went there being known as injury prone because the season before I was out for many, many months and they took a gamble on me and I'm grateful for the opportunity that they have given me.
"I mean since joining I have played 80% of the games. I think I've been doing okay and playing, which is the most important thing for a player, game time and being able to express yourself.
"I'm still enjoying it and I am grateful for the opportunity."
