Alexander praises Wits game-plan against Pirates

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Cole Alexander praised coach Gavin Hunt's game plan after grinding out a hard fought 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Gladwin Shitolo scored an own-goal late in the match, deflecting a low cross from second-half substitute Haashim Domingo into his own net to hand Wits the solitary goal.

Alexander believes both teams played good football on the night, but his side was hard to penetrate and it worked wonders for them in walking away with all three points.

The Clever Boys are at the summit of the Premiership table with nine points after clinching three victories in a row.

Alexander told SuperSport: "Good game, I think defensively we were well organised and we stuck to our game plan.

"We knew that Pirates are good football playing team, but kept organised and it worked for us.

"Unfortunately it was not our game going forward, but we walk with the three points away from home."
