Al Ahly striker to join the Clever Boys on loan

Cape Town - Al Ahly striker Amr Gamal is looking likely sign a one year loan deal with South African league champions Bidvest Wits.

The Egyptian club, record eight-time African champions, have reportedly confirmed the pending transfer on their official website.

According to the Kingfut website, coach Gavin Hunt's Clever Boys will pay Al Ahly $200 000 for his services.

The Egypt international is a youth team product at Al Ahly and has netted 29 goals in around 100 matches for his club since being promoted to the first team in 2013.

The 26-year-old forward has three Premier League titles, two Egyptian Super Cups, the 2013 African Champions League, the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup and two CAF Super Cups winners' medals to his credit.

Gamal is expected to arrive later this week, after Al Ahly play Al Masry in the Egyptian Cup final.

Wits are likely to lose young Bafana Bafana striker Phakamani Mahlambi, who is currently on trial in Portugal.

Wits next welcome Benni McCarthy's Cape Town City to the Bidvest Stadium on Friday and will be looking to get their title defence off to a positive start.

Kick off is at 20:00.
