Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was pleased to receive the man of the match award in the 1-0 victory over Baroka FC on Saturday.
The Nigerian shot-stopper did not start the game and only came off the bench as Itumeleng Khune hobbled off with what looked like a groin injury in the first half.
Akpeyi then foiled the Bakgaga attack as he made some incredible saves that earned his side a narrow victory.
"It's good to be man of the match. As a professional player you always have to be ready for anything, especially in the goalkeeper department," said the Akpeyi after the game.
"The two clean sheets [they've kept in their last two games against AmaZulu and Baroka respectively] are actually a motivation to the goalkeeping department and to the team generally because when you keep a clean sheet you're not going to lose the game.
"So it's a huge motivation going into the next game."
With Khune on the sidelines again, Akpeyi is likely to take his place in Amakhosi's starting line-up when they host Golden Arrows on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
