Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will look to break their losing streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Bloemfontein Celtic.

Ajax suffered a third successive loss when they were beaten 1-0 at Black Aces on December 19.

The Cape Town side has claimed 11 points from seven home matches this season.

The Urban Warriors are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from 10 matches.

Celtic saw their winless streak in the league extended to six matches when they were beaten 2-1 at Chippa United on December 18.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed nine points from seven away matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Celtic have met in 26 league matches since 1999/2000.

The Urban Warriors have 11 wins compared to nine for Phunya Sele Sele, while six matches have been drawn.

Ajax have won nine of their 13 home matches against Celtic, suffering just one defeat in the process.

Last season the Urban Warriors completed a league ‘double’ over Phunya Sele Sele, winning 1-0 at home and 3-2 away.

The teams have played to just one draw in their last eight league meetings.

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 at Cape Town Stadium on Friday, January 8.
