Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns will both be out to avoid a third successive league defeat when they clash at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday.
Ajax went down 2-1 to Maritzburg United at home last Friday, that result leaving them in the relegation zone, two points above rock-bottom Bidvest Wits and two from safety.
They were outplayed by Maritzburg and such have been the Urban Warriors' struggles this season that they replaced coach Stanley Menzo with Muhsin Ertugral at the end of last year, although the Turk was not on the bench on Friday night as his paperwork had not gone through yet.
Ertugral says, however, that he has faith that his side have the quality to turn around their season.
"Yes, we can change things, otherwise I would not have taken this job. This club has major potential," he told KickOff website.
"If you look at each player individually, they are really good, skilful and positive players, but in the end, football functions in a certain group form, where everything must be in harmony.
"And that, at the moment, is not there, so we need to find the right combinations, which takes a bit of time."
Sundowns, meanwhile, lost 2-3 to Polokwane City, which resulted in their lead at the top of the standings being cut to just point over Cape Town City.
Brazilians coach Pitso Mosimane will be demanding a response from his side, having questioned their commitment after the defeat to Rise and Shine.
"It's mentality, it's attitude, they're not ready, they're not back from the break," he said at the weekend.
Ajax midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka will miss the match through suspension after accumulating four yellow cards, while Sundowns do not have any players suspended.
Both of the two clubs' two new marquee signings, Tendai Ndoro for Ajax and Aubrey Ngoma for the Brazilians, did not feature last weekend as they are still carrying injuries.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
