Ajax CT consult legal team, look to halt playoffs

Cape Town - Newly-relegated Ajax Cape Town have responded to the arbitration ruling to dock the club of points and will look to interdict the promotion/relegation playoffs.

The Urban Warriors were sensationally relegated from the Absa Premiership on Tuesday after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Tendai Ndoro, by the PSL.

As punishment, Ajax forfeited three matches - against Platinum Stars, Polokwane City and SuperSport United - by a scoreline of 3-0.

Ajax confirmed on their Twitter account that they are in the process of urgently consulting their legal team regarding the ruling.

The club also plans to approach the Johannesburg High Court to file an interdict to prevent the promotion playoffs from going ahead, the first match of which is scheduled for Wednesday.
