Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town CEO Ari Efstathiou confirmed that the club will release a number of players in order to make way for academy players.

According to KickOff, the Urban Warriors have already shown the door to veteran Franklin Cale and Ashely Hartog.

Cale returned the Mother City franchise after underwhelming spells at Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United.

While Hartog joined the Ikamva club in February from Maritzburg United following a successful trial.

Efstathiou added: “We will be releasing the names of other players leaving the club at the end of the season.”
