Ajax Cape Town duo agree Wits deals

Cape Town - Title-chasing Wits have bolstered their squad ahead of next season after signing pre-contract agreements with Ajax Cape Town duo Brandon Petersen and Prince Nxumalo.

As Petersen and Nxumalo are in the final six months of their respective contracts with the Urban Warriors, Wits have been able to snap them up on a free transfer.

The duo will see out the remainder of their contracts before linking up with the Clever Boys on July 1, 2019.

Announced on Twitter, the club said: #BidvestWits is pleased to announce the signing of Ajax Cape Town duo - Prince Nxumalo & Brandon Petersen, on pre-contracts with effect from 1 July 2019!

Peterson, 24, has been Ajax's first-choice 'keeper this season, fending off competition from Shuaib Walters and Jody February to make 12 appearances in the NFD in the first half of the campaign.

The 28-year-old Nxumalo, meanwhile, has also been a regular starter for the Cape side, featuring 13 times and bagging one goal.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
