Cape Town - The
agent of Ghana international Edwin Gyimah has once again moved to allay
fears over the defender's involvement at the 2017 Africa Cup of
Nations (AFCON).
The 25-year-old Orlando Pirates player was recently involved in a car accident in his homeland, but escaped serious injury as he suffered just a few scrapes and bruises.
The versatile defender, who can also operate in a defensive midfield role, has linked up with the Black Stars squad for training ahead of the continental showpiece in Gabon, meaning he is still in contention for place in Avram Grant's final 23-man squad.
Mike Makaab, Gyimah's agent, told KickOff: "He's fine, he's fine. As I understand he's part of the AFCON squad that Ghana have selected.
"But I must say that I haven't been able to talk to him direct.
"But reports say that he had cuts and bruises but nothing serious. And the report I've heard, they said he's still part of the squad."
