Agent denies Matlaba unhappiness at Bucs

Cape Town - Abbie Rasimphi, the agent of Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba, has denied his client is unhappy at the club and says he is focused on improving his form.

Matlaba, who has publicly admitted he hasn't enjoyed the best season in terms of personal form, has been at Pirates since 2012 and is regarded as dangerous attacking option from left-back.

However, coinciding with Bucs' difficult run of form in 2016/17, the player was reportedly said to be unhappy and was allegedly considering a move away from the side next season.

"There’s no truth in those reports," Rasimphi told goal.com website.

"How can a player not be happy at a big club like Pirates? I don’t know this. I would be the first one to know if the player isn’t happy.

"Whichever source was quoted made up baseless stories. I think they are just trying to create confusion.

"Whoever said that must have been brave enough to say it on record, but there’s no truth in all that."

This weekend the Buccaneers will be hoping they could break into the top eight on the PSl standings as they currently hold 11th position.

Pirates will travel to Free State Stars for Premiership clash on Saturday at Goble Park.

Kick off is at 18:00.
