Aces suffer Manyama blow

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces are set to lose the services of attacking midfielder Lebogang Manyama for the next three weeks.

Manyama has done well for AmaZayoni since he joined from SuperSport United, making 14 league appearances this season and netting two goals while weighing in with four assists.

But the former Ajax Cape Town attacker is now expected to miss a crucial period of matches after Aces confirmed he had broken several toes.

"Lebo Manyama is injured and out for three weeks. He will be operated on Friday for three broken toes," the Limpopo club stated.

The 25-year-old seems likely to miss league games against Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and University of Pretoria, as well as a Nedbank Cup last-32 clash against United Rovers.

Muhsin Ertugral's side are third in the Premiership standings, nine points below table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
