Cape Town - Chippa United striker David Zulu, who has agreed terms to join Kaizer Chiefs in January for R4 million, is hoping to make his move to Naturena while in good form.
Chiefs have been lacking a finisher of late, with their strikers scoring just one league goal between them up to now and Zulu, who has 17 goals to this name in his last 30 games in all competitions, is hoping Baxter will give him a chance early on.
Baxter will no doubt be happy to have a player with Zulu’s finishing ability making the move to Naturena, and will be keen to see him in action once he makes the move in January, reports Soccer Laduma website.
Baxter, with his staunch view that new players need time to settle into the Amakhosi's way of playing, will need some convincing before starting Zulu on arrival.
Phakamani Mngadi, Ovidy Karuru, Siphelele Mthembu and Levy Mokgothu, all of whom were signed at the start of the season, have either been used sparingly or not at all by Baxter up until now, with the coach having explained that they're not quite ready yet.
It is likely that Zulu, despite his goals in South Africa’s second tier last campaign, will have to undergo a similar period on the sidelines, where he will have to prove to his new coach that he is deserving of a spot in the match day squad.
