Yeye says Chiefs are ready

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane says the Soweto outfit is fully prepared for their Premiership clash with Jomo Cosmos on Tuesday evening.

Amakhosi are currently four points shy of Platinum Stars, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bloemfontein Celtic at the summit of the Premiership standings, and will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four games with a positive result against the newly-promoted Cosmos.

Despite having close to two weeks off from domestic duties during the international break, Letsholonyane is confident Chiefs are ready to face Tuesday's challenge head on.

"We are mentally and physically ready. We know the soccer season has FIFA-breaks," Letsholonyane told his club's official website. "That's why we plan in accordance with the programme for the season.

"We knew that after having beaten Platinum Stars (3-0 win), we will go on a break.

"We are professionals, we work hard every day and prepare for the next match. That's our focus."

Despite the fact Cosmos are languishing near the foot of the Premiership table, Letsholonyane insists Chiefs won't take their opponents lightly.

He added: "They are certainly not a bad side. They have just been unfortunate not to win some of their matches.

"Their coach (Jomo Sono) has an eye for good players. We always respect our opponents and this time won't be any different."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
