Wits swoop for Pelembe

Cape Town - Elias Pelembe has reportedly joined Bidvest Wits as a free agent after his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expired in June.

The Mozambique international had been looking for new employment after his time with the Brazilians came to an end, and is currently undergoing pre-season training with the Students.

The 31-year-old is believed to have already penned terms with the Clever Boys, which will see him reunite with coach Gavin Hunt, the man who initially signed him during the pair's time at SuperSport United.

The midfielder made over 50 appearances for Matsatsantsa before switching allegiance to Sundowns in 2009.

It may come as a surprise that 'Downs coach Pitso Mosimane is comfortable with the decision to let the influential winger depart the club.

The Mozambican footballer first earned recognition as a Deportivo Maputo player before sealing a switch to the PSL in 2007.
