Wits out to reclaim PSL top spot

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will have the chance to move to the top of the Absa Premiership when they host Jomo Cosmos at Bidvest Stadium.

Wits claimed their biggest win of the season and ended Platinum Stars’ unbeaten run with a 4-0 win in Rustenburg on November 4.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 10 points from four home matches this season.

The Clever Boys are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from nine matches.

Cosmos suffered their fourth defeat when they were beaten 3-1 at Black Aces on November 3.

The Vaal-based side has claimed has claimed two points from four away matches this season.

Ezenkosi are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with seven points from nine matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Cosmos have met in 46 league matches since 1985.

Ezenkosi have 15 wins compared to 12 for the Clever Boys, while 19 matches have been drawn.

Wits have won seven of their 22 home matches against Cosmos, suffering eight defeats in the process.

When the teams last met in the 2011/12 season, Ezenkosi took four points off the Clever Boys with a 0-0 home draw and 1-0 away win.

The teams have played to five goalless stalemates in their last 10 league meetings.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Sunday, November 8.
