Wits recorded a third successive win since the resumption of the league last month when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 at home in midweek.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 22 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are AmaZulu, Polokwane City (both away) and Chippa United (home).

The Clever Boys are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 21 matches.

Celtic racked up a second successive league win when they defeated Platinum Stars 2-0 at home in their last outing.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed 11 points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (home), Polokwane City (away) and University of Pretoria (home).

Phunya Sele Sele are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 27 points from 20 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Celtic have met in 50 league matches since 1985.

The Clever Boys have claimed 21 wins compared to 15 for Phunya Sele Sele, while 14 matches have ended in draws.

Wits have won 14 of their 25 home matches against Celtic, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, a late goal from Motshwari handed the Clever Boys a 1-0 away win.

Kick-off is at 20:00 on Friday, March 6.
