Wits aim to bounce back

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will be looking to end their winless streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Free State Stars at Bidvest Stadium.

Wits poor form continued when they they were beaten 2-1 away by Chippa United.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 10 points from five home matches this season. Gavin Hunt’s Clever Boys are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from 10 matches.

Stars suffered a fifth defeat of the season when they were beaten 5-2 at home by Polokwane City in their last outing. The Free State side has claimed three points from four away matches this season.

Ea Lla Koto are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Stars have met in 47 league matches since 1986.

The Clever Boys have 16 wins compared to 13 for Ea Lla Koto, while 18 matches have been drawn.

Wits have won 11 of their 23 home matches against Stars, suffering three defeats in the process.

Last season, the Clever Boys won 2-0 in the Free State, but Ea Lla Koto claimed revenge with a 3-1 victory in the return game in Johannesburg.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, November 22.
