According to Soccer Laduma, The Students CEO Jose Ferreira has labelled the rumours as a “blatant lie”.

“We find ourselves continuously having to come out denying stories linking our club to player A or player B,” the CEO said.

“But, we repeat, we cannot allow our name to be linked to false stories. We have never approached or made any offer to Chippa United for the player, Andile Mbenyane.”

Meanwhile Gavin Hunt will be hoping to get the advantage over Orlando Pirates when the two teams meet in the MTN8 semifinal on Sunday in the first leg at Bidvest Stadium.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.
