Wits block Chiefs' Vilakazi approach

Cape Town - Sibusiso Vilakazi is reportedly interested in joining Kaizer Chiefs but any potential move was blocked by Bidvest Wits, according to Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung.

Motaung said the Clever Boys refused to budge and were adamant that the Bafana Bafana playmaker was not for sale.

"With Vilakazi, we have shown interest in the player, the player has shown interest, but Wits are not releasing him," Motaung said.

Amakhosi have already started rebuilding their squad following the recent appointment Steve Komphela, announcing five new arrivals on Tuesday morning.

Siyanda Xulu, Bongani Ndulula, Camaldine Abraw, Daniel Cardoso and Keegan Ritchie have been drafted in, while Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango could sign new contracts at Naturena after reporting for pre-season training.

The star duo were told to leave training in order to ponder their futures.
