Wits, Usuthu to toil for victory

Cape Town - AmaZulu will look for a third successive Absa Premiership match without defeat when they host Bidvest Wits at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

AmaZulu played to their first league draw of 2015 when they held Black Aces 1-1 away on Saturday.

The Durban side has claimed four points from nine home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Chippa United (away), Free State Stars (home) and Kaizer Chiefs (away).

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with 13 points from 21 matches.

Wits suffered a first league defeat of the year when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Bloemfontein Celtic on Friday night.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 18 points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Polokwane City (away), Chippa United and Orlando Pirates (both home).

The Clever Boys are placed third on the log with 40 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Wits have met in 52 league matches since 1985.

The Clever Boys have 20 wins compared to 12 for Usuthu, while 20 matches have been drawn.

AmaZulu have won seven of their 25 home matches against Wits, suffering six defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Hlatshwayo and Pule took the Clever Boys to a 2-0 home win.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Tuesday, March 10.
