Cape Town - SuperSport United goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, is recovering very well following the injury he picked up in their league match against Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg last year.

Williams missed Matsatsantsa’s last match of the year against Chippa United on Sunday December 21 in his home-town of Port Elizabeth.

“I had a good festive season and the injury is healing very well,” said Williams to Matsatsantsa’s official website.

“Most of all, I’m happy with the progress and hoping to come back as soon as possible. I had enough rest and can’t wait to meet my teammates after the recess,” said Williams.

Williams emphasized that he is excited that his team won their last match of the year in PE but he was unable to come to the game.

“I was already at home when we won the match against Chippa but couldn’t attend because of the injury.

"I hope that we continue where we left off come second round.  My teammates deserved it and they fought to the finish.  This is a big motivation to the team going forward,” he said.

Williams will rejoin his teammates when they resume their second round programme next week.

“The team comes back next week and I will meet all the players at training in the New Year,” he concluded.
