Williams on Bucs radar

Cape Town – It has been reported that SuperSport United goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, is being targeted by Orlando Pirates.

According KickOff, SuperSport are now weighing up their options as it has been made known that Pirates are willing to offer Thandani Ntshumayelo in a swap deal.

Ntshumayelo has been warming the bench and the move could work but all depends on various other moves as well.

Sport24 reported that Wayne Sandilands remains a prospect for Pirates as speculation increased. However Mickey Modisane, a Pirates spokesperson, cooled speculation on whether the Buccaneers will shift their hands into luring the goalkeeper to Soweto.

“As far as I know, there has never been any talk about Sandilands,” said Modisane.

There is also the prospect of the Sea Robbers landing Itumeleng Khune as the Kaizer Chiefs number one is in his last six months of his contract.

Pirates have been searching for a long-term replacement for the late Senzo Meyiwa and a 22-year-old Williams seems like the obvious option but only if they could twist the hands of United mentor, Gordon Igesund.
