Cape Town - SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams says the team had made tremendous strides since Gordon Igesund took over at the helm.
Williams, who kept another clean sheet when SuperSport beat the University of Pretoria 3-0 last weekend, admitted that his season did not get off to an auspicious start.
However, the fact that he has now recorded his third consecutive clean sheet in all competitions is a sign, if ever one was needed, that the team was heading in the right direction during the current campaign.
"To be honest I didn’t think much about clean sheets.
"All that is important is that we got the win. But it's nice to reach it - it's a good marker especially when you consider the amount of goals I conceded early on in the season," Williams told the club’s website this week.
"We have come a long way and the team as a whole is starting to play some brilliant football," added a satisfied Williams.
SuperSport United will look to continue their great form in the Absa Premiership when they host Maritzburg United at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
