'We must take CAF seriously'

Cape Town - Eric Tinkler insists that Orlando Pirates, as well as the three other South African teams participating in CAF competitions, have a responsibility to take it seriously.

Pirates will join Wits in the Confederations Cup, while Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs participate in the Champions League.

“It’s fantastic that we will have four clubs from the PSL participating in these CAF competitions. All four must take these competitions seriously and we need to try and go as far as we can," KickOff.com website quotes him as saying.

“There are a lot of fixtures and we will be playing every weekend and midweek, so it’s important we have depth in our squad.”

“We do have a decent sized squad to play in both competitions [CAF and Absa Premiership]. It’s important for us as a technical team to assess each match and the choices we make in team selection.”

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
