We can't 'depend' on Khune

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande is confident that someone in the goalkeeping department rise to the challenge of standing in for Itumeleng Khune.

According to football411.com, Kaizer Chiefs' number one Itumeleng Khune will miss the crucial MTN8 Final against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates but Willard Katsande is confident that the Glamour Boys have more than capable back up for Khune.

Khune's absence is Brilliant Khuzwayo's gain as he is expected to take up the gloves in the Saturday's Soweto Derby.

"It won't affect us at all, because as you can see Kaizer Chiefs have more than 30 players,"

"Every player is capable of doing well in his absence. It's a chance for someone to step up and play the game." said Katsande.

Katsande said the Amakhosi players needed to guard against becoming over reliant on one or two specific players because should such a player injury could derail the team's momentum.

Khuzwayo looks set to continue as Khune's replacement after beating out Reyaad Pieterse for the role.

Orlando Pirates v Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 20:15 on Saturday, September 20 at the sold out Moses Mahbida Stadium in Durban.
