The Cape Town born ‘keeper was second choice to Namibian, Virgil Vries, for the better part of the 2014/15, but feels he still has a lot to offer to the club.
“At the moment my agent is busy negotiating with the team for a new contract and I’m confident of staying here,” Walters told Sport24.
“There has been one of two teams that have asked about my availability; however, I will give Maritzburg the first option for an extension.”
Walters, who has also played for Bloemfontein Celtic, said he is still happy with the People’s Choice despite lack of game time.
“I enjoy it here and I feel I still have a lot to contribute to the club,” said the goalkeeper.
“For now I’m still waiting for the agent and the team to conclude negotiations and will take it from there if nothing materializes,” he said.
