Wafa-Wafa final a sell out

Johannesburg - The MTN8 final tickets have been sold out, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) have announced in a statement on Friday afternoon.

Tickets were made available to the public earlier in the day after the PSL selected the Moses Mabhida Stadium to host the 20 September final.

PSL Marketing and Communications manager Luxolo September confirmed to Sport24 that it took the Kwazulu Natal supporters less than three hours to book their seats.

"I can confirm that they were sold out within three hours after we announced that the final will be staged at the Moses Mabhida stadium again."

The tickets to the derby final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were made available at 13:00.

The 54 000 capacity stadium (for local soccer matches) will be hosting the competition, with a prize money of R8 million, for a successive year.

Chiefs defeated the defending champions, Platinum Stars, 5-0 on aggregate to book a place in this years’ final, while the Buccaneers eliminated Wits with a 5-1 aggregate triumph to advance to the second consecutive MTN8 Final.

The last time the two Soweto giants met in an MTN8 Final was in September 2011 where the Sea Robbers won 1-0 thanks to an extra-time goal by Oupa Manyisa under the reign of Julio Leal.

The 2014/15 MTN8 final will kick-off at 20:15 on Saturday, September 20.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
