Vermezovic shifts focus to Ajax

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic says he has shifted his focus away from their disappointing draw against Bloemfontein Celtic to their next match against Ajax Cape Town.

Amakhosi were held to a 1-1 draw against a 10-men Celtic side after Johannes Mothlaping received his marching orders early in the match.

He told the club's website: "There is no doubt that we were a better side and put them under lot of pressure but we could not convert the chances we created. It was also evident that Celtic used ultra defensive mechanisms that made it difficult for us to break through.

"I have no reason to doubt the ability of my players and together we going to continue fighting ...we now have a tough game against Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday, this game is history.

"We have a squad of 28 players and we will not be bringing any new faces at the Club. We keep rotating the players and you can expect more changes when we play Ajax Cape Town."

The Serbian mentor also lambasted the chances his side missed in the match against Celtic.

"We created enough chances to win the game but things did not go our way.

"I think Bloemfontein Celtic should be credited for putting a good fight in this game. They played for a long time with ten men but we could not take advantage of the situation. I think once again the boys gave their best and we just have to keep our heads up and focus on our next game."
