Vermezovic: Bucs below par

Johannesburg - Vladimir Vermezovic felt his Orlando Pirates side were well below par when they came from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu.

According to KickOff.com, the Serbian coach admitted Pirates did not play the type of soccer that they usually deliver in a match.

“We didn't play, you know, as we know we can play,” said Vermezovic.

“In the second half we were much better. Maybe the guys are tired, or celebrated too much after the Wits game (2-0 first leg win – MTN8).”

“But never mind, everybody is allowed to have one bad game. It is all right. Fortunately we didn't lose.”

The coach said that he saw much more chances in the second half of the game as they finished the 90 minutes with two strikers.

Vermezovic now has to prepare for the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Bidvest Wits on Saturday, August 23.

“Now we have to prepare for Wits. Two-nil is a dangerous result, we must be very careful.”

“Everything depends on us. You know if we play like we usually do, not like the first half, we will be okay.”

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:15.
